Reviews are all about expectation, and Leonard's did a fine job.
We just needed a place to eat, and there wasn't one for quite some time. Leonard's is a typical middle of nowhere, small-town greasy spoon, with a few interesting touches. The selection wasn't great, but the prices were reasonable, the food was fine (I got eggs), and the service was quick.
The wall was covered with a pretty impressive collection of Yankee memorabilia - odd to see 6 hours from the Bronx. Leonard must be a Yankee fan. -

Place used to have great food with friendly staff. Prices are still inexpensive but the quality and service are declining. Ordered breakfast, was only warm and took what seemed like forever to just get our drinks and even longer to get our breakfast. Not the place it used to be. When we walked in, almost all seats had previous dirty dishes and messy. Ate and very few tables had been cleaned and were needing attention. People were cleaning the tables off themselves so they could sit down.

Stopped here for a quick bite after traveling down Route 11. This place may have been good in the past, but as a previous reviewer said, the quality of the food seems to be going down. Food was mediocre at best. Service was average. The restaurant itself could use a little makeover. Overall not the worst, definitely not the best.

Nice diner. Lots of choices on the menu. Love the homemade fries. Waitresses are very friendly. Tons of space in the parking lot if your towing. Downfall. Not the cleanest place in the world.

What a great meal - so inexpensive and all hometown goodness. The burgers are excellent, the eggs and sausages are delish, the calzones and pizzas are huge and full of cheese and meat, the bread - HOMEBAKED - as are the rolls and donuts and pies... my #1 wish is that they stayed open later (the ice cream stand does, in the summer) as we like to eat after the sun goes down. These are hometown boys who cater to everyone, and it works.....we love the place, as do our Canadian friends who stop here when passing through. The waitresses are so sweet - "Hon, can I get you more..?"... no kidding. It is a trip back in time complete with NY Yankees memorabilia.
You WILL NOT LEAVE HUNGRY...guaranteed...and if you are picky, just ask and you shall receive.
